Amanda means: "Worthy of love" “deserving to be loved” or “the loved one”
My mother wanted to just name me “Amanda”. Our family has a say so on our names and got upset with her. She compromised and let them add “Luz”. Half of the people that I know, they know me as Amanda. The other half knows me as Luz. By the end of a conversation if they are discussing knowing any Colombians in Pittsburgh, they realized that “Luz” and “Amanda" are the same person. LOL I am fine with either name, but I love when people say “Luz Amanda.”
