Aemon (or Eamon) is the Irish version of Edward, a family name. My mother put the "D" in front to be creative. Turns out "Daemon" is the German word for devil. Oops...
Fun fact, when email first became a thing, the word "daemon" was a restricted use internet term for return-email servers. So I wasn't allowed to use my first name for years online. I had to use my middle name, "Andrew."
